Finally, a character in MGS for female gamers to relate to.

Sudan no1 - 2015-09-09

Nah, that's Raiden.

baleen - 2015-09-10

They have to be intentionally trying to piss off everybody.

That guy - 2015-09-10

Piss them off with art!

The Mothership - 2015-09-09

Video games are the new pulp fiction.

yogarfield - 2015-09-09

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: MGS is the greatest soap opera of all time.

SolRo - 2015-09-09

Voted it up, but deducting stars for that idiotic "video games are art" dismissal.

Sounds like something an MRA would say about womens rights because of a couple crazy feminists.

fluffy - 2015-09-09

wait if she breathes through her skin wouldn't this drown her?

takewithfood - 2015-09-10

Wait, she breathes through her skin? Is that why she hardly wears any clothes? Wow, now that I recognize the secret reason for her exposure, I feel ashamed of my words & deeds.

Ugh - 2015-09-10

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2015-09-09

Im playing phantom pain. Its the 1st MGS game Ive played as its the 1st one to come to pc. It seems to consist of two elements.
1. The actual game (which comprises > than 95% of ure time)
This is really really good, Im really impressed. Its an open world game that feels fressh. Its quite similar to playing farcry 2 for the 1st time, in fact it has a lot in common with farcry 2 but the gameplay is a lot more interesting than farcry 2. Mainly because of the focus on stealth. The stealth, combat, AI and world mechanics are all fantastically implemented, they also work beautifully together to make a fun game. The level of detail in all gameplay elements is astonishing, like the game was made by mad people.
2. Plot shit, comprising cutscenes / some boss fights and almost cutscene like gameplay sequences like the prologue or stuff like this video. These are generally terrible / extremely silly / random and not fun cus in these bits its like ure being forced to watch an awful b-movie rather than play a game. They are more bemusing than anything.

Still, on the balance I would highly recommend this game, its great! Really enjoying it.

Yeah it's probably the best game I've ever played, MGS1 sort of being that placeholder for however long it's been. I got it on 360, and I can tell that the graphics (while still amazing) aren't quite on this level my mind's being blown. Beware, you might spend a perfectly good fall day doing nothing but playing this game, especially on this island base, testing how far you can throw the guards who enjoy your abuse, then taking a shower while they watch, etc. etc.

Getting Buddy D-Horse to shit on your face was juust the beginning.

One thing I don't like is how every mission has credits. I guess you didn't play Ground Zeroes, but if you did, that was sort of the "WHAT THE FUCK" moment. It was great, every bit as great as anything in this one, but I honestly thought that it was one of Kojima's little jokes when the credits rolled so early as soon as I busted through. I guess the episodic nature is kind of cool in this one (I love the fact that I've been playing it for 2 days and I'm at 4%) but it's also like a bit of a fuck you to the people who actually spent 50 bucks on the GZ, which was shorter than the demo for MGS1.

Aelric - 2015-09-09

Gameplay-wise, it's the most accessible and newcomer friendly MGS game. Plot-wise, it only begins to make sense to idiots like me that have been following this series since MGS1, and frankly, it still doesn't make any sense, I just happen to know what is being referenced when they say things like la-li-le-lu-lo and Cipher.

It's a bit of a shame, the trailers did this story more justice than the game does, but at least it's a great playing game.

infinite zest - 2015-09-10

I sort of like it this way. Description or not, "video games as art" pretty much originated with MGS1; there were plenty of attempts before but it was either bad acting or story arc I didn't care about. But MGS3 nearly ruined the whole thing for me, even though I liked the game itself.

It's kind of that "less is more" thing that I really liked about Mad Max Fury Road. They could've done a million flashbacks and shit, but instead you were just sort of involved. And whether you had seen the first 3 or not, it didn't really matter because it was just really good, and really fun, but fans would recognize Miller's little easter eggs and such.

Meerkat - 2015-09-10

What they don't tell you is they are all ogling Snake.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-09-10

After watching that shower, I feel like I need a shower.

Nominal - 2015-09-10

Bioware could learn a thing or two about how clothed showers are done.

Anaxagoras - 2015-09-10

Finally! A game that panders to me! The kind of guy who loses his boner when women open their mouths and say things.

I thought this day would never come. Thank you Hideo something-or-other Japanese guy.

RockBolt - 2015-09-10

Hideo Kojima may have some issues with women

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-09-11

Being attracted to women is not the same thing as having issues with them.

Xenocide - 2015-09-11

Yes, when your boner requires you to dream up a murder barbie who can't talk or put on a shirt, that's a sign you have a healthy attraction to women.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-09-11

"This is how you chose to tell me that I smell bad? By having me take an erotic shower with a sexy woman?? I thought I could trust you people!"

Two Jar Slave - 2015-09-11

That's it?

Mister Yuck - 2015-09-11

That was extremely creepy.

Xenocide - 2015-09-11

If she breathes through her skin, why does she wear pantyhose? That's like half her skin covered up. And that's a weird oversight when you consider the ridiculous attention to detail MGS is known for.

Kojima gave this exactly as much thought as most people do when writing porn.
