"In Of Mice and Music, Deems Taylor writes Wagner had the emotional stability of a six-year-old child. When he felt out of sorts he would rave and stamp, or sink into suicidal gloom...He was almost innocent of any sense of responsibility. He was convinced that the world owed him a living...He was equally unscrupulous in other ways. His second wife had been the wife of his most devoted friend, from whom he stole her. And even while he was trying to persuade her to leave her first husband he was writing to a wealthy woman, whom he could marry for her money...He had a genius for making enemies. He would insult a man who disagreed with him about the weather... But he also concludes that this undersized, sickly, disagreeable, fascinating little man was right all the time..What if he was faithless to his friends and to his wives? There is a greatness about his worst mistakes. The miracle is that what he did in the space of seventy years could have been done at all, even by a great genius, is it any wonder that he had not time to be a man? He was a complex monster."

A reminder that Nick Bravo could yet save the world, with music, with hope, and with hate.

Nick will probably lay low when he's released-- get an honest job, find the right woman to marry (the female Gremlin from Gremlins 2?)...this will be the intervention he needs.

Nope! His next narrative will be about how he has become a hardened man with life experiences that make him superior to others, and he will be on to his next absurd ambitious scheme. He will gladly share on YouTube with no shame whatsoever.

If by hardened and life experiences you mean his gag reflex will improve dramatically, then yes. Yes he will.

Hi Nick. My name is Tyrone, and we're all out of wives here.

EvilHomer - 2015-07-18

I hope this is true. Nick is a national treasure, and it would be sad to lose him to the prison-industrial complex.

Not when you are your own authority.

I kinda figured that a sentence of "6 years, 5 years probation" meant 1 year of actual jail time, which is still surprising given that he is not a violent felon or anything like that.

Still, I'm sure this whole experience will teach him precisely nothing.

I'm sure in a few years he'll be back on YT talking about his moral superiority and how he was better then everyone in jail.

Cena_mark - 2015-07-18

He wasn't violent yet stealing houses is some grand larceny. He'll be back to his old self soon.

A year in the can can really fuck a guy like that up.
I can can like you can can but who can can like we can can?

EvilHomer - 2015-07-19

IIRC, he wound up getting convicted on two counts of fraud, relating to forging his name and filing the forged paperwork. They're both three year sentences according to the random stuff I read on the internet, but it was a non-violent crime and California's prison system is bursting at the seams, so from what I understand, there's pressure to release prisoners early.

Not sure what prison is/will do to Nick. I'd be quietly optimistic, in that it'll give Nick some time to cool off and maybe improve his job prospects when he gets out (usually felonies HURT job prospects, but in Nick's case, community re-integration programs will be better than his usual nothing). Also, Nick's been leading a pretty rough life in his RV, so having three meals a day should be a pleasant experience for him. Quiet reflection, away from the drama on the internet, maybe give him time to work on a book - a novel or prison memoirs, political tract, whatever.

On the other hoof, Nick is extremely impressionable, and given his current state of vulnerability, I think the more likely scenario is that Nick will fall in with the Aryan Brotherhood and come out of prison covered head-to-toe in swastika tattoos.
