"Are you sure this is a video toaster?"
"Positive as a red battery terminal."

Totally nailed it.

At first I was confusing this with Starchasers, which is another equally terrible film.

Also, if you're going to do a fan film, why not do one that hasn't been done by the original series? This guy is cute, he should just try to put his own unique spin on it.

I don't think Starcrash was an original mst3k. I am rather rabid about both of those things, so if they ever crossed, I'd like to think I'd know.

However, if you know for a fact that they did, I would appreciate it if you would GIMMEGIMMEGIMMMEINEEDITOHGODSTOPHOLDINGOUTITHURTS inform me what season and episode it is.

You gotta admire the attention to detail in the set design, but yeah. I guess "fan film" is different than "fan fiction.." I didn't see the "F" at first and it took me a good 2 minutes after the perfectly sung intro to realize that it wasn't just an episode of MST3K I hadn't seen before.

I dunno, I'd like to see Jay and Mike (and Plinkett) do full movies like this, sort of expanding on the little sketches at the beginning and then just watching a movie. I mean, it is kind of the same thing, but you don't really have intellectual rights to talking during movies..

I just realized this movie was never done on the original show so this was all fan written. So I have to give them credit for this and I'll have to watch the entire thing later.

memedumpster - 2015-07-14

Watch this one to get used to these guys being the characters, then watch episode one : Little Red Riding Hood. Holy shit is it a bad movie, and hilarious commentary. I also learned that the Axe Body Spray = women will rape you thing came from an old ass Brylcreem commercial.

In all honesty I like this more than Rifftrax, which I sadly could never get into. But maybe I'm just a sucker for robots and characters rather than people being themselves. Jay and Mike quickly break character and become two guys discussing a movie, which is fine. It's like The Onion's AV Club vs. The Onion. But for entertainment purposes I like this more, even though some of the jokes are hit/miss for me from what I've seen so far.

MST3K means as much for this guy as it did for me when I was a kid, where I didn't have any friends except for these robot ones. I wonder if the creators know about this.

Old_Zircon - 2015-07-14

If you're going to recreate MST3k, why on earth would you choose the Sci Fi Channel era?

memedumpster - 2015-07-14

I am of the opinion that any time three people exist in proximity to one another in spacetime, they should immediately build these robots and sets, then make a mst3k fan film. So, there is canon enough for everyone.

fluffy - 2015-07-14

This is Comedy Central era. It's just Mike, not Joel.

BHWW - 2015-07-14

I've seen this before, indeed this was featured on PoETV before, so eh, dupe, I guess but it was a pretty fun watch, I felt. Y'know, for a fan effort.

TheSupafly - 2015-07-15

Did my damn well best to try and find it on here, so of course since I am infallible, you must be a liar. INFALLIBLE.

memedumpster - 2015-07-14

I watched this all the way through and I really like the commercials they put in. The writing is solid mst3k stuff, I dig it. The "working you are, paid you will be" skit is very timely. The Star Crashin' song is great.

I am entertained.
