I haven't seen the episode, but this is probably the best crossover episode of anything I've ever seen, and that includes the Simpsons/Critic crossover.

ashtar. - 2015-04-10

Wait. How can it be the best crossover episode you've seen if you haven't seen it? Was that a Koan?

Also, fuck both these boring shows.

Xenocide - 2015-04-10

And the award goes to Uncle Grandpa in "Man Getting Hit By Football."

Assuming the episode's the normal 11 minutes, I've seen more than 50%, so I can formulate an opinion. I've also only seen clips from the unwatchable Simpsons/Family Crossover and know that it's probably the worst crossover I've ever seen. I doubt if the few minutes I missed from either would really sway my opinion, but yeah.. I don't really care enough to track this down. SU is a pretty cute show though, and it's always on when I'm at work.

The Simpsons/ Family Guy crossover, can't complain, was about par for what you'd expect.

Still no clue what this show is. People in the other submission weren't being very helpful. IZ, or even ashtar, what are these shows? Explain them to me. Why are they best/ boring?

Steven Universe is basically like a bunch of 70s anime, or to me anyway, Sega's Alex Kidd. His dad's sort of a depressed burnout and his mom died during childbirth because ostensibly he was too powerful for her to contain and it exploded her ladyparts and she died. So basically he's his own mom. The Gems are, you guessed it, a bit like Jem, representing at least 3 Jungian archetypes about how he'd probably envision his own mom: there's the responsible one, the party animal, and the one who acts before she thinks, but is of course the most badass one. The show's written and created by Rebecca Sugar, who was also responsible for writing most of the best songs in Adventure Time, as well as writing some of the best episodes. The reason I started watching it was because it was the first show that CN picked up that was created by a woman. In the same mindset, I discovered Clarence because it's a great allegory for every closeted Q individual. Twilight Sparkle is a regular voice on both Clarence and Uncle Grandpa.

Uncle Grandpa I believe began as a short for CN, around the time of "What a Cartoon," which also gave birth to Family Guy and other shows, but I can't find much evidence about this. What I recall was UG was basically a Don Martin/Mr. Magoo character who didn't really help people, was was a bit of a pedo, but the current incarnation is, well a grandpa uncle who, like Steven, is basically immortal and wants the best for everyone and are also related to themselves. So whatever deviantart comes out of UG/SU fuckfest, it's gonna be an unclemothergrandpafuckfest.

It's not worth cancelling all your plans for the weekend and binging or anything, but I usually have it on in the background when I'm at work. This scene in particular was the tits.

Yeah, I noticed the similarities between the short fat character and Alex Kidd. I take it that was intentional?

infinite zest - 2015-04-11

Oh and this one.

kudos for getting away with saying "deez nutz" on a kids' show. Bonus Ric Flair!

infinite zest - 2015-04-11

I'm assuming.. he's also kind of like Goku, who stepped on his grandpa when he went into beast mode. What's interesting to me anyway is that the show is sort of every teenage boy's fantasy (living with 3 attractive girls and little to no parental guidance) but it's written by a girl. It's a huge spoiler if you watch it, but you could probably just start with the episode with the clip that's posted on here entitled 'Garnet's Song' Before that, the show just wandered aimlessly and was kinda funny and cute, but now it's telling a pretty interesting story.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-04-10

Now where did I put that little kid?

Oh yeah!

Xenocide - 2015-04-10

No more than forty or fifty stars.

Binro the Heretic - 2015-04-10

:P

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-04-10

This episode was a great piss-take, even for a show that regularly makes little jabs at its own fandom like Steven Universe, and it was nice to have a simple, "no consequences" episode again after all the heavy stuff from the start of the season.

Caminante Nocturno - 2015-04-10

The "sinking ship" joke was hilarious after someone pointed it out to me.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-04-10

Lars and Sadie deserved it!
