"The World of Reality Video Games-"

What?

EvilHomer - 2015-04-10

Way to viral market your crappy Steam Greenlight, dude.

Hype for an early access alpha?! What are the odds!

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2015-04-11

Homer, you kind of burned yourself griping that Minecraft wasn't going to go anywhere because it wasn't finished. You might want to read up on Prison Architect and quit while you're behind.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-12

I've never argued against Minecraft. Minecraft was the first successful "early access alpha indie game", and to date, it's the only one that's wound up being really good - thanks in a large part to the modding community, because even Minecraft suffered from the same problems plaguing its latter-day wannabes, i.e. feature creep, community hype, and developer abandonment once the checks started to come in.

Could Prison Architect be good? Sure, it could. It doesn't have to be the next Starbound/ Sunless Sea/ Spacebase DF9. In the words of Seymour Skinner, "prove me wrong, kids".

zerobackup - 2015-04-10

I played it, it's pretty fun and quite deep for an Alpha release.

Cena_mark - 2015-04-10

Shouldn't they be more upset at the evil system that inspired the game rather than the game itself?

EvilHomer - 2015-04-10

I think SOMEBODY needs a litle time-out in the slammer.

Sorry, Cena, but I have to report you. See something, say something.

Xenocide - 2015-04-10

People said that when Mortal Kombat came out, but I'm a firm believer in publically funded magic karate dismemberment tournaments. They keep kids off the streets!

EvilHomer - 2015-04-11

Actually, the funding was through a private trust set up by The Elder Gods, and the purpose of the Mortal Kombat tournament was not to keep kids off the street, but to prevent Shao Khan from launching an invasion against the Eathrealm. It kept a few kids off the street, that is true, but up until the tenth tournament, all of those kids wound up getting murdered at the hands of Goro.

I'll bet there's a significant number of people in the world who don't have an opinion on prisons.

I'll bet that number's bigger than you think it is.

Xenocide - 2015-04-10

Just as experts warned, children everywhere have been influenced by this game and are now building and operating their own prisons. My 10 year old cousin started one the other week, and today we found they're transferring Charles Manson there. He's pretty excited.

Okay, so this is probably all a bit hysterical. But I remember seeing news reports on black market Nazi games that simulated running a concentration camp.

So what I'm saying is that there probably is a line somewhere.

EvilHomer - 2015-04-11

Could you find some links? The last real Nazi game I played was ZOG's Nightmare, and that wasn't very good. Concentration Camp Simulator (doesn't have to be Jews, could be a Japanese-American internment camp!) sounds like it could have potential. 'Campy' fun, eh eh?

StanleyPain - 2015-04-10

Wait till they find out about Hard Time.

MagickPoultry - 2015-04-11

I killed every single person in that prison, and then when my sentence was up, there were no wardens left to release me. It was a Pyrrhic victory.

MongoMcMichael - 2015-04-10

GODDAMN it, MSNBC! You're making liberals look like jerks.

Quit giving Fox News 'fun police' ammunition.
