That's horrible. She got stabbed in the neck to death on the eve of the release of Action Bronson's album, who she apparently really liked, and I also like. She was probably laying there with blood spurting out from her, and during that brief period before you lose consciousness but you're about to lose consciousness, she was probably wondering about what the album would be like for a moment. It's a really good album. That she'll never get to hear.

It's so horrible that she'll never get to hear it. But I've been listening to it all day (before I read about this), while I went grocery shopping at the Asian supermarket and the liquor store to make chirashi bowls tomorrow. It's a really good album. I feel really bad about the bad things I said to her that one time (I was going thru some shit. I Got on escitalopram, and started mindfulness meditation shortly thereafter; it's all really helped). No one deserves that kind of thing, and no one deserves to get stabbed in the neck and then to quickly bleed out on the floor of a fast food restaurant in a struggling city.

Digression: it's a really awesome city if you're not there as a homeless-by-choice person with an abusive/murderous boyfriend/travelling companion/fuck buddy; it has so many great restaurants and so many great places for live music. And if you know a few locals and you're open to it, you can have so many incredible experiences. It was the first town I ever got drunk in, slamming hurricanes on the patio of Pat O'Briens. Post-Katrina years later there was this one time one of my dad's former students called my father, brother, and myself on "stage" and we brought down the house playing Herbie Hancock's Chameleon at the Candlelight backed by a badass brass band. Holy shit, how the fuck did that even happen?

And yet this poor girl visited one of the country's jewels and all she got out of it was that she probably got slapped around by some dope-fiend so she could keep being a dope-fiend until it all eventually went horribly wrong at a McDonald's. That's fucking awful. I feel awful when I think about it; I need to just think about how great my life is in comparison to feel better. Also, I can just listen to the Action Bronson album that just dropped and is really good (I think I will submit the first track in her honor). Also, I'll watch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which is really funny, partially because of how it helps sublimate the horrible things that happen (especially to women) in the real world into comedy. I hope she didn't suffer too much. I'm glad she didn't get raped to death by hobos. God damn, this whole thing. That's really horrible.

I'm incredibly saddened to hear this, and my condolences to all her family and friends. I gave her a lot of shit about living on the streets at one point in time, because I feared it would end badly. Sadly, I was right, and I wish I wasn't. I also should've been nicer to her and her cadre of street friends. I know you guys have certain rules you live by on the streets, I just wish you could get off of them. My take on it was, why take up limited resources that are available for street people by choice when most people living there don't have a chance?
I spent a lot of time in New Orleans, and it's an amazing city. I know the block she was killed at and used to drive by it. I saw kids just like her all over the Marigny.

She had this elaborate plan to get jhm to tattoo his face and it was integral but I see if you search her Facebook you can see she did not have one. She had a lot of cool reckless ink YOUR LOSS on her knuckles for example, but never took the full plunge, that was Zoe. Fully immersed and streetwise like a pro but never willing to fully commit to the whole self defacement nihilism thing. In the end I think she respected herself too much. This is so fuckig horrible and out of the blue that communicating here is one of the only things giving me any refuge. I don't understand I just fucking want her back we all do...

I guess I'm still catching up here.. first off, my condolences. I recently lost a friend (and former lover) as well (intentional OD) and I was probably the last person to talk to her. She was about 50 miles away and I would've had to go around the entire town screaming her name at 4 in the morning, but I'm still kicking myself, like maybe one of her siblings was on Facebook? Could I use that "find my phone" app? It sucks man.

She also went by at least 3 different names. Some of this was for fun (if she liked you she'd tell you her "real" name etc.) but it was also to cover her identity. She had some really, really messed up relationships with some horrible, absuive assholes, probably just for the drugs. So I think she just didn't know what to do with someone who wasn't abusive, and would rather just hang out and talk about Baudelaire or something.. I dunno.. it'll take some time but I'm slowly convincing myself that what happened was out of my control.

I don't mean to turn this around and make it about my problems, but I just wanted to say that I understand what it must be like right now for you guys. Orcs has a bit of a history of outrageous lies and trolling, and my suspicion that more than one person was posting with that account has been vindicated. So I understand the skepticism and irreverence.

But, shit. I'm actually upset about this, even if it's unconfirmed. I quite liked orcs' posts: her voluntary-homeless narrative (even if I didn't believe half of it), her shit talking with John, and her bizarre defense of Michael Bay movies. I'd see oogles sitting on the sidewalk drinking and sort of wonder if that was her. If this is confirmed (how bout a LATFO memorial post?) I'll tag the shit out of some underpasses and train cars.

Skepticism, sure, skepticism is why I'm still posting on other videos like normal, instead of bawling my eyes out and getting shitface drunk. But for fucks sake, the irreverence isn't called for. Orcs got (gets?) a lot of shit from some people, particularly all that "rape" bullshit - something which I doubt anyone here would even DREAM of saying to a housed, financially-secure woman.
