I watch a lot of British comedy panel shows and they reference old cartoons (mostly Top Cat for some reason) all the friggin' time. WTF?

Harveyjames - 2015-03-23

How is that weird?

I suppose old cartoons are a rich vein of reference comedy because a.) everyone remembers them b.) they don't hold up to logical scrutiny upon adult reflection, so are easy to poke fun at c.) people enjoy nostalgia. I don't know why that's localised to the UK. I'm not sure it is, even.

How about a bilious temperament?

Robin Kestrel - 2015-03-23

You bet!

Plus, taking a good shit tends to put one in a better temperament.

I know it always puts me in a more sanguine humour.

Here in the states, he's been the spokespanther for Owens-Corning fiberglass insulation for years.

I'm pretty sure that was the first exposure I had to the character. It was either that or the credits to A Shot in the Dark.

And actually, Wikipedia he isn't in the credit sequence for A Shot In the Dark, so it was definitely the insulation.
