Incredibly satisfying THUNK.

EMERGENCY QUESTION unrelated to this video!!!

In Windows 7, what is the best way to departition an SSD and reallocate the freed memory to my C drive?

The computer has two physical drives, an SSD and an HDD for data, and is currently partitioned in the following manner -
C: (SSD) D: (HDD) E: (SSD)

As of some asshole Windows update this morning, I have 16 MB on my C drive and 62 GB on my E. Windows is spazzing out. I need to get memory from my E drive into the C, but the built-in Windows partition tool will not reallocate the needed memory, as the two partitions are, quote, "not adjacent". Internet tells me that there are third party programs which can do this easily - are there any good freeware ones? Which to use?

NancyDrewFan123 - 2015-03-12

the helicopter hit the garage door, you see.

infinite zest - 2015-03-12

Take my advice with a grain of salt (you probably want to ask facebook too) but I used Minitool when I had Windows. That was XP and a long time ago, but it's pretty easy to find for free.

jreid - 2015-03-12

What I would do, I'd use this as an excuse to upgrade and buy another (larger) SSD. Clone C: over to it, then copy whatever you have on E:, then completely wipe the old SSD and make it F: and Fill it with Fun pics.

Oscar Wildcat - 2015-03-12

Oh, that's easy.

1) Take the machine into your driveway.
2) Smash it with a hammer.
3) Post the clip to this website.

It's probably the best course of action at this point.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2015-03-12

Maybe give this a shot:

I don't have personal experience with it but Google searching your problem suggested trying the home version which is free.

How large is your C drive SSD? Have you tried moving programs and brony porn over to the HDD to free up space?

EvilHomer - 2015-03-12

All of my programs are on D; porn is on D, with backups and video torrents on external drives F and H. Clop is mostly relegated to F, locked to prevent friends and family accessing it. C is practically nothing except for system files, temp files, and a few odd Document folders that I've negelcted to mklink over to D - even so, it's full to bursting! It's been like that since I bought the computer; the partitions were factory installed, evidently with the intention that new owners would use E as a backup and restore drive, but it's a really stupid idea and now, despite judicious use of CCleaner and SpaceSniffer, it's gotten so bad that I can't just ignore the problem anymore.

Robin Kestrel - 2015-03-12

The helicopter hit the garage door. Did you not just see that? It really smacked the shit out of that fucker.

infinite zest - 2015-03-12

Which drive is your helicopter porn on?

EvilHomer - 2015-03-12

Shot from helicopter, or starring a helicopter?

Monkey Napoleon - 2015-03-12

Before you laugh at the pilot for being an idiot, be aware that this is caused by a firmware bug. The takeoff sequence is automated, transitioning the gear/booms up and out of view of the camera gimbal.

Instead, laugh at him for the equivalent of buying a top of the line Alienware desktop at all... but then also only using it to check his email and facebook.

oddeye - 2015-03-12

how much are these?

infinite zest - 2015-03-12

I always feel bad when someone breaks a toy, but the other day I seriously wanted to grab and smash an adult's drone. I was helping my girlfriend move her stuff and we hadn't seen each other for a couple of weeks. Anyway the apartment complex has a common area so it was kind of our first chance to actually TALK to each other, before the hassle that's loading up a couple of cars and this dipshit comes out with his drone and starts flying it around the apartment complex while smoking a cigarette, not even acknowledging our presence. It kept buzzing right past our heads and those things are fucking loud. And there's a fucking park right across the fucking street!

Monkey Napoleon - 2015-03-12

The standard package is 00. The thing is, it's designed as an intermediate level professional aerial photography platform... but no self-respecting professional photographer would ever use it. It's got a bunch of proprietary air frame parts, and you're more or less locked-in to the load out it comes with. The way things are nowadays, once you get up to spending this kind of money on a platform... you're much better off building it yourself as it is basically as easy as building a PC. Everything is plug and play and you can go from a pile of parts to a fully built and programmed craft in a single afternoon. Then, when you crash (because you will, at some point), you can fix your air frame with off the shelf parts at far lower cost.

Reviews of it are pretty good (once the firmware patch is downloaded), but it's clearly marketed as something the pros would use to lure gadget nerds into purchase.

Adham Nu'man - 2015-03-12

For how much cheaper would you say I could build an equivalent platform? Any DIY guides you would recommend?

EvilHomer - 2015-03-12

Yes, any tutorials to help us get started building our own? Also, do they make waterproof/floating parts? I live by the ocean and expect I would spend a great deal of time buzzing fishing boats and jetskiiers; I don't want to loose my future drone to a well-placed harpoon.

infinite zest - 2015-03-12

i saw a quad copter at a 7-11 (really) and I think it was only 129. So really that and a go pro, which I think are 300 for a good one could do the trick. This guy can probably do a lot more, but if I'm right, probably about 500 bucks?

Monkey Napoleon - 2015-03-12

You could probably get set up with an equivalent kit for ~00, considerably less if you don't care about the gimbal and 4k video.

flitetest dot com is how I got turned onto the hobby. They've got plans, diy kits, reviews, helpful forums, and way better noob advice than I could give about getting into multi-rotors (winged craft are my thing).

Monkey Napoleon - 2015-03-12

DIY is going to run you minimum 0-300 all in w/o a camera to start if you don't want to have to replace everything later. A toy might be better to start with if that seems steep.

Monkey Napoleon - 2015-03-12

In case anyone is curious, guys who do like commercial work can have craft up in the 00-000 range not including cameras. Once you get into a certain weight class, the cost of air frames and electronics starts to go up exponentially. There's a class of RC airplanes that just wouldn't exist without corporate sponsorship as it's not completely insane to get into 6 digits. I mean, it IS insane, but a scale 747 is a more complex aircraft than a real Cessna.

Oscar Wildcat - 2015-03-12

Really, didn't any of you notice that he almost killed the person coming out of that house, who likely has no relation to this guy? Stars aplenty for this clip.

badideasinaction - 2015-03-12

She's got a For Sale sign in her front yard, I wonder why?

Raggamuffin - 2015-03-12

And what have we learned today?

The Mothership - 2015-03-12

The 'For Sale' sign in the neighbor's yard.

sasazuka - 2015-03-12

He just wanted to save Jamie Lee Curtis from... Tia Carrere, maybe? Was she in that scene?

"Heliflopter", I see someone else here saw Sunday's BOB'S BURGERS ("L'il Hard Dad" for anyone with the ability to watch FOX online without being region cock blocked).

The New Meat - 2015-03-12

This actually did happen to my dad once.

Nominal - 2015-03-13

When my father dabbled in his radio control plane phase, it took him 5 weekends to finally get the thing off the ground. 5 minutes after he did, the signal was lost and the thing just kept flying out over a forest.

He quit after that.
