Nice.

The kitten store/orphanage/kitten orphanage bit was inspired.

Oh come on, guys. A TF2 movie gets out of the hopper but Onibaba is sitting there without a single vote?

Welcome to Obama's America.

15 Years ago, I used to hang out with the Quake movie, early machinama crowd. This is the kind of thing we were all hoping to see someday.

Binro the Heretic - 2014-12-09

I guarantee this is better than most of the movies that will come out next year.

Here's a dumb question from someone who has never played TF2: is this gameplay footage or do they have some way of manipulating cutscenes like in Metal Gear Solid? Or is it a combination of both? Whatever the answer, this was cool.

?

It's made using the in-game engine, using a thing Valve released a while back called Source Filmmaker. It lets people use existing models, sets, and objects (or their own) to make animated scenes using the engine.

Like that train is in one level, all the characters are classes in the game (dressed with user-made winter stuff), all the backgrounds and sets are used in various levels, etc.

Basically, they have all these models and sets and trinkets to use to animate their movie.

Cool thanks! You're talking to grandpa when it comes to this stuff.
