Aubrey Plaza's passion for the material really comes across.

baleen - 2014-11-02

I would still like to make love with Aubrey Plaza.
Also, there was a lot of news recently about how Lifetime was abandoning all that "women stuff" and rebranding itself.

If this is what we have to look forward to, I think we're going to have a new goldmine for submissions.

infinite zest - 2014-11-02

Yeah between this and the Saved by the Bell Movie, I think I'll have a new channel to not auto-skip, assuming I'll ever have cable. It's kind of like when The Nashville Network became Spike, and hours of "too high to change channel" time went into effect with their Cops marathons.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-11-02

I don't have sound here. If Aubrey Plaza does the voice of Grumpy cat, that's a neat idea. That's not going to make this a masterpiece, but with the sound off at least it looks better than "the Christmas Shoes".

Grumpycat gets around. She was photographed with an internet friend of mine at Vidcon, and with Catie Wayne at The Cat Video Festival. If she hasn't been cloned already, she probably will be.

EvilHomer - 2014-11-02

I have never heard of Grouchycat or Aubrey Pizza, but I enjoyed this trailer and would be willing to watch the finished project.

delores_showboat - 2014-11-02

I would totally bump muffs with Aubrey Plaza and I'm going to watch this movie but I won't be sober for it.

Lifetime: The Channel for Women that Hates Women

Prickly Pete - 2014-11-02

Ha, Aubrey just tweeted this re: this movie: "Its SO TERRIBLE that it's genius." So she does get it. Excellent.

Maggot Brain - 2014-11-02

Uhg, no.....

Wait, What, Lifetime? Okay, at lest well get to see some chicks crying.

Hooker - 2014-11-02

Norm Macdonald once told a story about his experience working on SNL and how they would always get agents telling them how funny their latest actor clients were, but then they would show up and be handsome people who were completely boring but would wind up getting great reactions from women in test audiences. Norm said it reminded him of high school and when he would say funny things to girls, the girls wouldn't laugh and would call him weird. He said that this experience on SNL made him finally realize that women just laugh at whatever attractive guys say.

Aubrey Plaza really isn't funny, guys.

Meerkat - 2014-11-02

Gilbert Gottfried nailed this one already: women say they want to sleep
with men that make them laugh, but what they mean is they will laugh at anything said by men that they want to sleep with.

That guy - 2014-11-02

Hooker I love that story, even if Norm is crazy now.

Aubrey's got one foot in each world, though. I can't say she's unfunny or gorgeous or hilarious or fugly. She's got something going on in both worlds. She's a utility player.

ashtar. - 2014-11-02

Men, however, have senses of humor based solely on objective logic and are never swayed by female attractiveness in their complex comedy calculations.

Hooker - 2014-11-02

Well, I was implying that poster here find Aubrey Plaza funny because she's attractive.

Here's the excerpt from the interview, by the way. I've heard the recording, but can't find it on YouTube:

GM: And young, too, right?
NM: Young. Handsome. Because what young, handsome
person is funny? I remember on Saturday Night Live
hosts would come in. You know, like handsome hosts.
They'd be dramatic actors generally. And the publicist
would always be like, 'This is a big chance for this
guy because he's really a funny guy and people don't
know it. He's hilarious!' And then he'd just suck, you
know? And then I realized a very important thing: You
know how girls always say they like a guy with a sense
of humour? I think what they do is they just laugh at
whatever a handsome guy says. So the handsome guys are
saying these idiotic jokes and the girls are giggling
and laughing. They're going to think Mel Gibson is
funnier than Shemp.

GM: Because the ugly guy will say something genuinely
funny and they'll just be like, 'Whatever.'
NM: Yeah, right. 'Whatever.' I remember when I was a
kid the guys who were always getting the big laughs
were always like these charming funny guys, and then
I'd say something that I thought was funny and they'd
go, 'You're weird!'

chairsforcheap - 2014-11-02

i'm not affiliating myself with anything hooker said except for Aubrey Plaza isn't funny and brings nothing to the table

Hooker - 2014-11-03

You deny Norm said those things?

chairsforcheap - 2014-11-03

no i'm saying tl;dr, the only thing i paid attention to you writing was she isn't funny and i agree

spikestoyiu - 2014-11-04

I don't think she's all that attractive either. But whatever. Get paid.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-11-04

I think that a woman who is skilled at being funny knows if she's attractive or not, and knows how to use it, either way. I think Aubrey uses her looks to make the the deadpan persona work, to draw you in and make you want to like her. With good material like "Parks and Recreation", it can be funny.

>>So the handsome guys are
saying these idiotic jokes and the girls are giggling
and laughing. They're going to think Mel Gibson is
funnier than Shemp.

I just don't think that applies to all women. Interestingly, my last girlfriend had a thing for Norm McDonald, so who the fuck knows.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-11-10

I love comedy and I love funny actors and actresses and I have never thought she was funny. She just always seems bored or pissed off that she is being forced to act.

Old_Zircon - 2014-11-02
