I read the title and made it two seconds. I'm now paused at 0:02 and I have 3 punches to give out.

"IT SHOULDN'T MATTER"

yogarfield - 2014-10-13

NO FATTIES

Nominal - 2014-10-13

They sure proved something.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-10-13

A remarkable social experiment in clickbaiting women.

Crab Mentality - 2014-10-13

In your profile you didn't look like someone wearing movie makeup...

Nominal - 2014-10-13

Yeah who the hell was fooled by this? It already looks fake on camera and it's ten times more obvious in real life.

Adham Nu'man - 2014-10-13

And the LAST GUY is obviously the nice one. It just couldn't have been the first, or second, or third. They had to all be "assholes" until FINALLY our hope for a better future arrives.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2014-10-20

the link to the male version of this experiment is offensively bad.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-10-13

He doesn't appreciate people lying to him? What an asshole!

This "social experiment" is so old that something like ten years ago, Saturday Night Live was already doing a parody of it.

Never seen such a fakey looking fat girl before, though.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2014-10-13

I remember someone on 48 Hours or 60 Minutes doing this for job interviews. Nobody wanted to hire the fat girl, even though she was submitting a resume meeting all the requirements.

They also got lots of sour looks from other people (this was a while ago, so maybe obese people weren't as common?) though I'm not sure how they did it as TV cameras were still pretty clunky back then.

infinite zest - 2014-10-13

"Just go about your daily routine like I'm not wearing the hat."

Chancho - 2014-10-13

I had to make a rule after the opera singer (for realz) that if a woman was extremely overweight I wouldn't date her, no matter how much I enjoyed her company. It just gets too physically awkward when a person is the size of a rhino.

infinite zest - 2014-10-13

Ugh. I think anyone who has used Tinder (it's "blendr" but "Tinder" is spelled with an e) or OKC etc. has probably had this happen to them. And it's happened to me. I don't think it's shallow to say that everyone has their type, but I would never leave or mention a single thing about body size or appearance on the date, nor would I care (we might not sleep together, mostly because I have zero experience with size-positive girls but we'd always still have a good time, unless personality and chemistry is just not there..)

Anyway it's true that guys (and girls) judge a lot on appearance, but what really gets to me is how this must make size-positive girls (and guys) feel. "Oh guess what I'm actually slender and hot!" I was half-expecting her to peel off the fake fat and kiss him or something, how how's that supposed to make overweight people feel who don't have that option? It's really quite evil on both sides.

That guy - 2014-10-13

How DARE you try to be even-handed about this, fatso!?

EvilHomer - 2014-10-13

True Forced Lardiness. :(

Spit Spingola - 2014-10-13

Basically five starring your comment, not the video, because fuck it.

spikestoyiu - 2014-10-13

It's the definition of evil to be attracted to what you're attracted to.

fluffy - 2014-10-13

Yeah, the whole "beauty and the beast" ending was aggravating. But there is the issue of the profile-photo-not-matching-ostensibly-real-life thing. But if they'd given her the fat suit on the profile photo she probably would have never gotten any dates lined up, except maybe a couple of ultra-creepy chubby chasers. (And then the "I'm not really fat! Ha ha!" reveal at the end could have been hilarious.)

This video on its own is problematic but compared with their other video (where the gender roles are reversed) it's an interesting experiment to see how things go differently; all 5 women were at least polite to the man in a fat suit, and while there was a bit of obvious "I should try to fix him" stuff going on all of them followed through with the Tinder date. But of course the man isn't conventionally "hot" outside of the fat suit, either, so the dynamic is already different from the outset.

Not that this is a scientific study by any means; clickbait is clickbait, of course.

Rafiki - 2014-10-13

"It's the definition of evil to be attracted to what you're attracted to."

You're an asshole if you're not attracted to me. LOOK AT THIS ASS. So taut and round you could calibrate a laser micrometer.

Also, the lying part of the video aside, if you put a fake picture of yourself in a dating profile then you hate yourself and have no self esteem. Can't really judge people for not liking the way you look when you don't either.

EvilHomer - 2014-10-13

Yes, but you see, the clever trick is she DOES like the way she looks. Because she's not fat.

SolRo - 2014-10-13

The majority of women are less concerned with looks when it comes to men, and have various other traits they'd consider as, or more, important.

And you could definitely set up a 'test' like this to do a bait-and-switch for something some women would care about and be pissed/disappointed to find was false advertisement.

Jack Dalton - 2014-10-13

The youtube comments are great. They did the same experiment with a guy lying about his appearance, dressed him up in a third-rate nutty professor fat suit, and the girls apparently were less rude to him... Which apparently proved that the men in this video were jerks.

TeenerTot - 2014-10-13

Yes, yes...men are only into physical appearance, and women are only into money.

I happen to think all _young_ people are shallow asshats. 'Cause I'm old.

millerman13 - 2014-10-13

what up player

chumbucket - 2014-10-13

One dude couldn't even make the first step to sit down.

Gmork - 2014-10-13

It's not whether or not she's fat, it's that she misrepresented herself and didn't describe key things that would better help someone who is ACTUALLY a match for her, find her. Hypothetically.

Transparency is good. Deceit is bad.

infinite zest - 2014-10-13

If you haven't used Tinder, it sources from your facebook pictures and nothing more (save for a really short section where you can talk about yourself) so there's really not much to go on except looks, and depending on how much you participate on facebook, mutual things you "like." That being said, I get a lot of pictures of peoples' kids, even though it says "32 years old." You don't have to use your main FB profile pic, but a lot of people just go on there to try it out for a day or two and give up, not making the effort to represent themselves. Same with the pictures where it's two people in the same shot, one of which is far more attractive than the other.. That's different than OKC or Match or those, that uses actual algorithms to match body size, height, "attractiveness" and allows you to have a 10,000 word essay to describe yourself if you so desire.

magnesium - 2014-10-13

This is the fakest looking fat suit ever. It looks like they glued flesh coloured balloons full of sand to her face.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-10-14

This makes the Nutty Professor look like Oscar worthy makeup material.

Oh... shit...
