Cats are a lot more laid back, as amply illustrated here. Also, you don't have to take them for walks or take them outside to shit/piss. They also do not bark/howl or slobber or hump your leg or kill children. Oh, and they live longer than most dogs, on average.

If you die, a cat will start eating you pretty much right away. A dog will be sad and depressed and only eat you once it's right on the edge of starvation.

Thus dogs are better, case closed, drop the mic.

I never pegged you for a Hitler apologist, but fair enough, point taken. I still think Winston Churchill was the better man, awful taste notwithstanding.

I don't know. I have a dog now, and I've had a lot of cats, and I was never as close to any of those cats as this dog. I'd probably save my dog from a life or death situation before I'd save most people. Can't say that about any of the cats I had.

On a related note, dogs have been known to save their owners from burning houses and shit. Cats, not so much, although I have heard stories about cats dialing 911.
