Wouldn't Lorenzo Music be voicing Peter Vengazorpazorp in that other reality? (And wasn't the Gazorpazorp planet a planet in the same reality we're in, but then, in the episode with the TV, it became a different reality entirely? Or were they watching a Gazorpazorp TV show from another reality where the Gazorpazorp planet also exists? Yes, I'm nitpicking Rick and Morty.)

Woah you're right. The only one I remember was the NES Garfield on some emulator and it was atrocious. Garfield is weird for me because without it I don't think I would've learned to read as eagerly as I did. Growing up with an older brother meant Sesame Street was for "babies" so I'd go out of my way to hijack his Garfield books and read those instead. I think I impressed everyone when I could say and spell "lasagna" by age 3.

As for the comics themselves, they're lazy and don't live up to the nostalgia of the old Sesame Streets I glossed over, but they meant a lot to me.

Plus I remember an episode of Garfield and Friends about a shark going after Garfield sung in the style of Sebastian the Crab and at one point it uses the little "bleep" censor; that was pretty edgy for a kids' cartoon.

The cartoon was above average for kid fare. Well, it did shoehorn Davis' other strip, "U.S. Acres" in there, but that was still better than what Hanna-Barbera was up to at the time.

As for the games, they were all pretty much a merch grab, which was probably due to Davis and his corporate masters assuming (like everyone) that vidya games were dumb, dumb people played them, and dumb people would buy anything, so why put much effort into it?

Yeah, US ACRES started as a comic strip in around 1986, although I strongly suspect GARFIELD AND FRIENDS was already in early development as a Saturday morning cartoon and they felt they needed something else to bulk out the half-hour before CBS would give them a green light for a full season, so, hey, here's another comic strip that's sure to be a merchandising monster on par with GARFIELD!

Caught in the Act was fantastic, and largely because it stuck to some of the better CBS specials. One level was a straight playthrough of the original Halloween special, the one with the ghost pirates that made me piss my pants.
