I hope Change is alone in this; I hope poe isn't one of those communities that hates the ACLU. They've defended a lot of controversial clients before, like communists, Nazis, and pedoforks, and yeah OK, some of their lawyers might be a tad mercenary. But they're still one of the best legal organizations on the planet, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

Who says I love juggalos? That's not going to happen until next season, and my writers aren't even sure they'll keep that angle, especially if the valuable Change demographic keeps sending in letters demanding their beloved Classic Homer. I mean, yeah, my awesome pony OCs Ganja Twerk, Klop Killa, and Faygo Dream are all juggalos, but that's just for fun; I am not now, nor have I ever been, part of the Fam. ICP isn't really my style of music, and worse, J and Shaggy take themselves way too seriously. The whole scene comes off like this unholy hybrid of GWAR, KISS, Puff Daddy, and U2. (the GWAR aspects I can dig, the other stuff, not so much)

But with that said, I will admit that in this instance, juggalos got a bum rap. It's bad enough that decades after Hoover and McCarthy, federal authorities still attempt to criminalize social association, but to try this sort of nonsense on juggalos?! They're not a gang. If anything, they're a cult. And, as a religious group, they're probably entitled to special protections above and beyond those enjoyed by secular groups.

They even went to bat for Rush Limbaugh.

I guess I should say, I don't wish them ill. I think juggalos are weird, funny, and downright scrubby, but on the other hand I love that the world has people like them in it, and I don't want them to change a bit. I dunno if that means I *embrace* them, but if it does, then so be it.

I told you guys about my two Army buddies who got placed on restrictions for taking bayonets and carving the word "JUGGALO" into their chests, right? They did it while chanting "J-U-DOUBLE-G-A-L-O". The world is a richer place for people like them.

ACLU went to bat for the Nazis in Skokie, meaning they went to bat for real honest to God Illinois Nazis. If villains from the Blues Brothers can get a fair shake in America, so can Juggalos

Homer is more the long-winded devil's advocate of poetv. Showing up in every video to foster an atmosphere of debate. I picture him as one of those beret-wearing old guys in his 60s who still hangs out with college kids on the quad.

I have Nathan Rabin's book about how he followed Phish on tour and went to Gathering of The Juggalos multiple times. I share his love for outcasts and tribes of people who don't fit in anywhere else. It's part of the reason I like THIS site.

That's a tough one. On the one hand, there are probably a lot of juggalos who would relish the street cred that comes from being a full-on gangsta. On the other, Violent J and Shaggy have come out very strongly against the gang classification. That carries some serious weight with Juggalos, as the ICP are like the Blessed Prophet Muhammed, Peace Upon Him, to those people. Going against explicit canonical statements made by the band is pretty much unheard of, and would likely result in the heretic being torn apart by his community before he could even upload a video.
