Serial killer whale.

It's weird. They had a public vote to name the new bridge they're building in Portland, which will be car-free, and they named it Tilikum. Tilikum means "friends, relations, tribe" etc. but I immediately thought of the whale. It's an especially odd choice because the bridge is used solely by the transportation company, who just a few years ago had major controversy when a bus driver made an illegal left turn plowing into five people crossing the street, killing two of them. Other than a lightrail it's all pedestrian.

They eventually fired the driver and blamed insufficient training in bus drivers. It's eerily similar to the Seaworld deaths, caused by Tilikum so why they'd name the bridge that is a fucking mystery to me.

This was upsetting, even if you already know the basic outline of the facts, but worth the time.

Also on Netflix, which is where I watched it. I already had major problems with keeping giant animals in small tanks before seeing it.
