Oh. I guess the scene's still in there, just not the part where the horse falls into the water on its back. That's kind of fucked up but when you think about it from the horse's perspective, it probably wasn't as painful as it was for the human stunt people. There's stunt horses like there's stunt people, and while I could ask a few people who actually ride horses bareback for confirmation on this, I'm pretty sure their backs are used to this kind of thing as long as they're being ridden. There's even those diving horses I remember from when I was a kid. This guy was probably one of them.

The impact with two humans landing on top would be painful, but I'm guessing more for the two stunt people landing on top of the stunt horse than the other way around.

It's only cut in England, the RSPCA decided it was the horse version of a video nasty.

"Can the horse refuse to do the stunt without being abused and/or stripped for parts?" seems to be the crux of the argument.

The horse jump that I saw as a kid.. it's kinda foggy memories but the horse voluntarily went up the stairs and jumped down about 20 feet. No trainer behind it prodding it. While it was probably trained to do so, Arabian horses swim all the time. I saw another video about horse dancing, without trainers, where they go along with the music. They're smart, and if they don't like what you're doing to them they'll let you know, and it'll probably take 4 or 5 of you humans to get them calmed down.
