What a dork.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-03-31

WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF DERPY WHOOVES?!?!?

PS HE IS RETARDED AND THAT IS NOW FANON! FUCK YOU SOCCER MOMS!!

Cena_mark - 2014-04-01

The ONLY thing they did wrong with Derpy was bringing her back. I am offended by that stupid looking pony.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

I don't get why you hate Derpy so much. You usually LOVE retards, like AJ and John Cena.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

P.S. I think I'm developing DSP (Derpy Sensory Perception) I was totally thinking about Derpy, out of nowhere, seconds before she appeared on the bleachers in last week's episode.

"Derpy likes watersports" is now canon...?

Cena_mark - 2014-04-01

Yeah sure, unleash the fanarts of Derpy eating muffins in a swimming pool.
Also AJ showed those Flim Flam's what for.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

I don't know what you're talking about; AJ spent practically the entire episode marking for the Flim Flam brothers! She was a total sellout, man, and we should all be very disappointed with her.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-01

She confessed to lying. It was a tough situation. She only hopes she can earn everypony's trust again.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

She also said she was going to be less overprotective of her family, and we saw how long THAT lasted. "Oh Granny Smith, don't do this, don't that! You might drown or break a hip! I'm Applejack, nag nag nag!"

AJ has a habit of not learning her lessons, maybe it's her deep country stubbornness, I don't know. I'm sure she felt genuinely sorry for being a scam artist, but it remains to be seen whether we can trust her again.

Maybe they could do an episode where James Randi comes to town?!?!

exy - 2014-04-01

That you would use this video as a platform to talk about "actual" MLP issues illustrates that there is something deeply, profoundly wrong with you.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-01

Applejack was okay (not great) with Granny Smith having some fun, it was only when she tried high diving again that she knew she had to intervene. Also you don't need James Randi, when AJ did the debunking.

exy, where do you expect us to talk about the show?

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

AJ was only "OK" with it in the sense that she knew she couldn't stop Granny Smith. Had she thought for a minute she could force Granny Smith to stop swimming again, she would have... and did! AJ only "debunked" the tonic once she realized that debunking it would be the perfect pretext to establish control over Granny Smith. And who says AJ _had_ to intervene? Granny Smith could have totally made that dive.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-01

She was just unhappy with the unnecessary risks Granny was taking. That pie plate was much too small. AJ saved her life. It was when AJ revealed that the tonic was phony that Granny stopped taking crazy risks, but AJ was happy to see her still swimming.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

"That pie plate was much too small."

Well I guess we'll never know NOW, will we? AJ ruined Granny's last chance at securing an enduring legacy, all because AJ didn't believe in her poor grandmother.

And AJ was so not happy to see Granny Smith swimming. She was fretting the whole time, even when it became obvious that Granny Smith and Applebloom were kicking ass!

exy - 2014-04-02

Cena, that is a complex question one of whose tacit premises I deny.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

This is the first I've heard about Molestia getting taken down, but from what I've been reading so far... yeah, this is bullshit of the highest caliber. Perfect call back to that last Jizz submission and the discussion we were having re: the arbitrary and corrupt nature of modern copyright "law".

As you guys know, I'm no fan of Princess Molestia. I've often spoken out against her, and I will not moderate my feelings on the matter now. But fuck Tumblr and fuck Hasbro; this sets a profoundly dangerous precedent that goes way beyond the scope of current copyright law interpretations. If corporations can now take down obvious parodies that do not make use of *any* corporate-created content, that's going to seriously imperil creativity, free speech, and journalistic integrity, on the internet and possibly beyond.

I mean, fuck Molestia and good riddance, but Tumblr is dead to me, and if there was any legally actionable basis behind their decision, it's past time people started fighting back.

Cena_mark - 2014-04-01

Whoa, I didn't think about it that way. Molestia is obvious parody. That should be protected.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

This is still a breaking story, and I don't think anyone has all the facts yet, but right now it does appear as if Tumblr took down Ask Molestia, at Hasbro's request, for copyright reasons. And if that's the case, ridiculous though they may be, I'm with the dorks on this one.

I guess it's *possible* that Tumblr took down Molestia for some other reason, or at least used some other reason as an excuse: Tumblr, as is typical of social media websites, has a pretty open-ended and, dare I say, arbitrary collection of Community Guidelines embedded in the their TOS. Basically, Tumblr reserves the right to shut down any person's blog at any time for virtually any reason - if Tumblr feels it's not in their interest to host your shit, they'll find a way to shut you down and there's shit-all you can do about it. Aside from copyright violations, Molestia may have run afoul of Tumblr's Malicious Speech, Harm to Minors, or Promotion or Glorification of Self-Harm censorship provisos.

There's been some speculation that the dork responsible for Molestia just got tired of updating his blog, but if I'd have to hazard a guess, I'd say it's probably a bit of all three. The timeline was probably something like this: a tiny band of angry SJWs complain to Hasbro about Molestia. Hasbro overreacts (as usual) and sends Tumblr some angry emails, threatening legal action or something. Tumblr doesn't want a fight and pulls Molestia, blasting the creator with a buckshot spread of copyright and community decency violations. The creator says "whatever, fuck it" and walks away, leaving bronies like this guy to pick up the pieces.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-04-01

Not very familiar with the Princess Molestia comics. My only reason for supporting the dork side would be Hasbro's cease and desist on Fighting is Magic.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-04-01

Alongside the copyright abuse.

EvilHomer - 2014-04-01

Yeah, Fighting is Magic radicalized me against Hasbro (and for Lauren Faust) even before I started watching the show. At least there, though, they were making a major commercial product using unlicensed copyrighted characters. Molestia was fair use fanart.

I never really followed Molestia, either (hence why I wasn't aware of Molestia's fate until just now) but I don't think you missed much. Mostly monochromatic drawings of Celestia being a whore and saying outrageous NSFW things.

Pope Caius - 2014-04-01

If what I know about Tumblr is correct, they usually take the offending posts/blog down but also send an email to the creator giving them a chance to contest the deletion. Whoever was running the Molestia blog probably just didn't feel like contesting.

Shoebox Joe - 2014-04-01

Last I heard Fighting is Magic wasn't intended for profit as a way to get past the Copyright violation. Don't know enough to question whether they would have turned if it got successful, but damn was that game an awesome thing to have on a portfolio.

exy - 2014-04-01

Why are all bronies exactly like this guy?

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-04-01

Something touched me deep inside the day Molestia died.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-04-02

deep inside your rectum?

themilkshark - 2014-04-01

Brony problems aren't problems.

bongoprophet - 2014-04-01

first they came for the bronies and that was it.
