I like that shot at around 1:25 where the workman is casually working on a pipe which has a large giant warning box "RISK OF LIQUID AIR". In virtually any other environment, the term "liquid air" would be a nonsense phrase, but here at the LHC the threat is taken so seriously they have a giant warning sign for just this event.
Not sure I'll be able to withstand the reality tv editing, hopefully it's limited to just the trailer. The subject matter is compelling as fuck, though.
This looks great, but am I the only one who's getting tired of all the animations and cartoons in recent docs (especially smushed in the trailers) that seem to entice people who otherwise wouldn't give a shit about CERN to go see it?
I'm not sure if Cosmos started it, but for the most part I didn't care about all the visuals, just what Sagan was talking about. I was about 10 when I saw it and was like "wow this is cool but if he's not going to get into an intergalactic space battle while he's up there, I'll just listen."
Theres an air about this I love. Something about how bright and clean and forthwright and *proper* everything and everyone seems. When scientist / engineer types accumulate and do stuff it is often unique and amazing.
I come from a non-scientific background and in recent years I have started sharing with a lot of scientists doing research and they are the best people.
