Steven Universe is fantastic, and it's only getting better with each new episode.
I think Cartoon Network finally got a good connection when they used the internet and decided to hire indie content, but I'd have to say the fact that they found and are branching off from Pendleton's circle is what is really helping.
Uncle Grandpa is okay, but it's literally a comix author (and if I'm assuming correctly, turned his own stuff to be available to kids) being subdued in the same way John K was hired by Nickelodeon. They want something different but don't want the prevalent anger tagging along.
I like it. Garnet has a much more distinctive silhouette (wide hips balanced out by huge hair) instead of looking like a taller version of Pearl, and Pearl's face is way more expressive.
