TM: I totally agree and at one point even considered doing just that. It's like semiotic theory gone mad or something. But that's what's really interesting to me: the way in which these people interpret 'modernity' or 'postmodernity' or whatever as secularized, evil, etc., without realizing that their sense-making tools (excluding the bible) come from that same satanic milieu. So in a way, it only makes sense that semiotics, as outdated a critical practice as it may be, would eventually get turned back upon itself.

Did you see the AMERICAN DAD episode "Rapture's Delight", the bizarro Christmas episode from 2009? It was a riff on post-rapture fiction like LEFT BEHIND and the Antichrist was totally based on the Riddler.

Hey, these people believe God leaves coded messages to them all the time; redefining the concept of percentiles is hardly surprising given their tendency to make things up as they go along.
