The comments on YT have descended into a "your country sucks because you'll die from X" flamewar. I was expecting some religious nut to claim they saw demonic entities in the mud-flood, but this'll do.

I remember reading of a lahar in the Andes of gargantuan proportions that slid down the side of the mountain gaining speed, then ramped off an uphill slope, flying thousands of tons of ash and mud and rock over a village of native americans who were spared by the avalanche but who mostly went deaf and mad from the incomprehensible sight.

Tornadoes and hurricanes only effect a certain portion of the US, these things are rare and seasonal and can be predicted. It really isn't anything to worry about.
