The funny thing is, if it were legal I can't see crack use in government really making much difference one way or the other.

People are more pissed that he did the brown man's cocaine, instead of snorting the white power powder like a human politician.

So, for those of you that don't know much about inner culture of Canada, let me fill you in. People from major cities in Canada are envious of and resent Toronto because, due to its sheer size, it remains the cultural centerpoint of the country, despite the fact that the people of Vancouver are more like the people of Seattle than Toronto, the people of Calgary are more like the people of Texas than Toronto, and the people of Montreal are more like the people of anywhere-in-Europe than the people of Toronto. However, Toronto is likewise envious of (but not resentful of) the people of cities like New York or Chicago. Their desperation to be talked about in books and movies and the news is palpable and desperate. This Rob Ford crack cocaine scandal is the first real sniff of international attention Toronto has gotten in ages -- possibly ever. Non-Toronto Canadians find this shit HILARIOUS on a far more profound level than the rest of the world.
