While I love it when they find old episodes like this, I do find the pre-Jon Pertwee ones really hard to watch (and not all of Pertwee onward are gems, either).
The stilted dialog doesn't help, but the main thing is how the format alters the show itself. These were originally 1/2 hour per week installments, not multi-hour "movies." I guess they hadn't worked out how to do actual recaps for TV yet, as they'd just have someone ask the Doctor something like, "But I don't understand what's going ON, Doctor!" every 15 minutes or so. That way, the Doctor could give the viewers at home an info-dump of past events and we'd move on.

Kieran27 - 2013-10-31 They actually planned that with Zoe and Jamie. That way they could get everyone in the family watching the show. As one actor in the show put it "The kids tune in to see the Doctor, the mom's tune in to see Jamie and the dad's tune in to see Zoe."

StanleyPain - 2013-10-31 Some of them are pretty solid. Tomb of the Cybermen is pretty good. I heard that along with this episode they also found a mostly complete version of Dalek Invasion of Earth which has only been seen as an animated thing with some still shots inserted.

cognitivedissonance - 2013-10-31 I actually find the actor who plays Rory adorable, but the character is just too annoying.

This was one of my favorite episodes because Troughton got to play a bad guy. Oh and Zoe's ass.

I watched this recently, it was great because it wasn't a monster of the week sort of thing.
It was like a Doctor Who version of a James Bond movie.
