When I worked at the airport parking lot we employed the most annoying and horrible human being I've ever met. He would talk endlessly out of his spittle-rimmed mouth about the bible and his mom. I recorded him on my cellphone when I was training him, just blathering on a stream of non sequiturs with zero input from me for like 30 minutes. He claimed to be a college student even though he was like 42 and fucked up every single task he was ever given, no matter how simple. He started leaving the booth (with the gate down, so people had to wait) and go up and harass people working at the terminal. He eventually got fired when some woman complained that he had not let her leave for several minutes while repeatedly saying to her "imagine that you never had to die."
I later saw him on campus talking at some girl who was gradually increasing her pace away from him from a brisk walk to a run. He just kept talking at her and moving faster.
Fuck you, Gary.

I have friends who have had a really difficult time finding work, yet we run into people whose employment, let alone continued existence without some self-inflicted mishap, is a complete mystery.

Did you ever find out who hired this guy? Were they punished?

At one of my previous jobs we had a co-worker who would whine about having to do her job yet constantly nag people she felt were doing their jobs 'incorrectly' and tell them what she felt they were doing 'wrong' - she would waste time she was supposed to be working by watching performances by groups like the Supremes on Youtube with the volume very much ON and if anyone complained she'd whine they were being racist. (She wasn't black. Korean, actually)

And at another job I used to work at, we had this skinny guy who could not shut up about his various beliefs, of the conspiracy theory variety, just going on and on about everything under the sun and how it was affected by conspiracy theories - he smugly informed people he didn't own a TV, but unlike other people who did so his reasoning was that was how the government monitored people.

Nothing worse than being forced to deal with insane people in the work place. I recently had to interview this woman, it should have taken 30 minutes but I was stuck there for over an hour.

Pretty much all of my favorite jobs have included a bigger than average amount of dealing with insane people. Sometimes it's frustrating but it's a hell of a lot better than being stuck in a cubicle someplace.
