Sexy Duck Cop - 2013-06-17

So I'm sorry, but am I supposed to feel sorry for the 300-pound manchild with an impossibly douchey name living in a drug-palace that he built by stealing everyone else's property? Like, at what part of that sentence am I supposed to be saying "Oh the poor dear! Whatever could he have done to deserve such shoddy treatment!?"

endlesschris - 2013-06-17

Yeah, when people are fat jerks we should be okay with the government ignoring due process.

Fuck you.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-17

First they came for the 300 pound manchildren, and I did not speak out--
Because I was not a

hold on a second

shit

Nominal - 2013-06-17

So I'm sorry, but am I supposed to feel sorry for the Nazis with impossible pale skin living in a country founded on free speech? Like, at what part of that sentence am I supposed to be saying "The first amendment should apply to everyone!?"

EvilHomer - 2013-06-17

Oh Sexy Duck Cop, I'm sorry he stole your stuff. :(

EvilHomer - 2013-06-17

And stars are for OZ. DONOT STEAL.

So help me if I find them hosted on some douchebag's Skydrive!!!

Oktay - 2013-06-18

Also for Old Zircon

Fezren - 2013-06-18

Why feel sorry for a guilty dude who got away on a technicality? That's great news for him. Meanwhile, this guy's going to push the issue of abuse of power to take the heat off of himself.

Sexy Duck Cop - 2013-06-19

It's just weird that people are so quick to fly to their RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION and RESPECT FOR OUR LEGAL SYSTEM except when it gets them free .flv's of The Dark Knight Rises.

chumbucket - 2013-06-17

Yeah if this was supposed to generate sympathy I have none for him.

Nominal - 2013-06-17

Are the first two comments really saying that legal checks on police powers should only apply when you personally like the victim? Come on guys we're better than that.

sosage - 2013-06-17

Is there a legitimate reason to tow his cars? I mean, other than someone involved with the raid or prosecution hoping to confiscate and sell/own his sweet pink caddy?

Nominal - 2013-06-17

No

The really sad and scary part is majority of the public supports it. It costs money for police to go after criminals so they should be able to recoup those costs by confiscating their belongings as soon as you arrest them and they have to be criminals or else they wouldn't be arrested!

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-18

When there's a questionable police raid on anyone, but especially someone with a lot of property, taking that property is often a motivating factor. At least they didn't shoot his pets or burn his house down with his family in it, because that'll happen too.

Toenails - 2013-06-17

When I watched this, I wondered what was shouted during the raid. But then poeTV helped me out:

Mister Yuck - 2013-06-18

So he's fat and he lives his life exactly how 12-year-old-me would if 12-year-old-me was given infinite money. How does that make him a jerk? 12-year-old-me was okay.

DavidBowiesLuckyTennisBall - 2013-06-18

He got Mercedes to build him a custom made high performance car - called the Mercedes Brabus V12 MEGACAR.

Syd Midnight - 2013-06-20

See now 12-year-old-me wouldn't buy a Mercedes, he'd have them build a tank with multiple cannons pointing in every direction so the enemy can't sneak up. And with a collapsible motorcycle for emergency escape. I had plans drawn up and everything. In an official looking manilla folder marked TOP SECRET.

Mister Yuck - 2013-06-18

Or rather, what makes him a jerk? Is there a good reason for all the hate that I don't know about?

Xenocide - 2013-06-18

He deserves to get arrested because he has lots of money and I don't. :(

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2013-06-18

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2013-06-18

Frankly I'm amazed anyone used megaupload for any purpose whatsoever, it was such a pos in several ways.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2013-06-18

I guess when the non tech savvy see the word 'MEGA' they think, wow that must be good! its mega!!

memedumpster - 2013-06-18

I used megaupload for legitimate file sharing. Documents mostly, and I actually owned them. To be fair, it was during a time when all the online storage sites sucked more ass to use than they did (not that I can rattle off a better one now, I no longer use that cloud bullshit and without MEGA in the name I absolutely cannot remember the name of clone file upload site #89467598437). Point is, I want my doc files back, nazi cops!

Hooker - 2013-06-18

I never used Megaupload for any purpose. But now that I know what purpose it served thanks to this raid, I use the replacement sites all the time.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-18

I used it sometimes during the period where there was not captcha or waiting period or anything for nonmembers, but that was before wetransfer and dropbox existed.

Spaceman Africa - 2013-06-19

It was pretty reliable to download pirated music from but Mega has improved on it a bit.

Sudan no1 - 2013-06-18

I weep for Real-life-Cartman's car collection.

M-DEEM - 2013-06-18

You should have your badge taken away if you can't jump over a fence like a bad-ass.

Or at least if you botch it, you have to complete the raid dickout.

Old_Zircon - 2013-06-18

I support the second part, regardless of fence jumping ability. They're supposed to be public servants, maybe that would foster the appropriate humility.

fatatty - 2013-06-18

We really should demand more of our public servants' climbing abilities.

Bhiu - 2013-06-18

For some reason, I always thought kim.com was Korean.
