Sorry, if he wants to "help" the homeless -- apparently by walking up to them on the street and wordlessly handing them clothes while someone films him -- then I'm all for it. The CEO is a douchebag but he's also correct. As far as I understand it, A&F has actually vile and exploitative hiring and firing practices that people have been outraged over for years. It might also be usefully pointed out that all their clothes are made in foreign deathtraps by desperately poor people. This guy's not outraged by any of that. Instead he's outraged that someone dared to say out loud that some people are more privileged and attractive than others and have products marketed to them. His response is to find some actually disenfranchised people and use them as wordless props for what I can only assume is some attempt to work through leftover outrage from high school. Why? Because homeless people are poor and ugly, HAW HAW take that, you CEO!

I think people donating A&F clothes to homeless shelters is a pretty good idea. Ever been to one? They really need clothes, especially clean shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, socks and underpants. This is amateurish but that's okay, because this man is an amateur and he's doing it all by himself, bless his heart.

I look forward to a massive gallery of A&F being worn by poor folks. I also look forward to douchey/sorority idiots throwing all their A&F clothes away in disgust, where it will be picked up by said poor folks. Only good can come of this.

Well, I guess I do agree with you. While I see no evidence that the guy in the video had any real intention to help the homeless, it appears to be becoming a bit of a thing and might have good results. I don't think it's a good idea for giggly kids wandering the streets looking for homeless people to take pictures with just so they can have a laugh. Are they going to make them dress up and pose with them? For one thing... I mean, frankly, some people are homeless for a good reason, and it's because they are nuts or addicts or whatever. Exercise caution.

I mean for goodness sake, why not just volunteer to help the homeless, with a proper organization? I do, regularly. They needed help yesterday and they'll need help tomorrow. THIS is what it takes to get people to care about something real? This dumb crap? The stupid clothes that people you dislike are wearing? This is playground level resentment. I mean, I thought KONY 2012 was a bit on the smug side, but at least that was a real problem. I don't throw "first world problems" around lightly but this does seem to qualify.

I predict this'll be utterly forgotten by this time next month, faster if the CEO issues an apology that no one'll believe but will provide an excuse to return to normal. The video guy won't even have to jack off in public to accomplish his return to obscurity. But if one person learns something about the homeless from it, then fine, it's entirely worth it. And doubly so if some homeless people get some clothes they like... if they can fit into them, because fucking hell, who the hell can?
