About 6 years ago a friend of mine had an ex girlfriend who was stalking him and she used something like this to call as his new girlfriend (complete with pitch shifted voice) and leave a 5 minute breakup message on his voicemail. He wasn't fooled, everyone heard the message, and he's now engaged to the new girlfriend, so I guess it went as well as it possibly could.
