This is a hell of a fan wank. Thanks Steam!

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2013-04-28

This time the creepy fat cancer patient-looking rape apologist from Penny Arcade isn't making money so...yay?

Nominal - 2013-04-28

I'd like to MURDER those darn rape apologists!

Fat Cancer Patient = band name

William Topaz McGonagall - 2013-04-28

Rape Apologist was a solid debut effort but FCP's sophomore album Penny Arcade Isn't Making Money was a real disappointment

That guy - 2013-04-28

FCP is no BNL.

RocketBlender - 2013-04-28

You guys are going to have to explain this one to me. Rape apologist?

Binro the Heretic - 2013-04-28

I didn't follow it too closely, but the webcomic/gaming news site Penny-Arcade started a shitstorm a while back with one of their strips.

It was a joke about how players become indifferent to the suffering of NPCs in RPGs. The player's character was on a mission that required him to rescue a certain number of prisoners. After getting the minimum number of prisoners and attempting to leave, he was approached by another prisoner who laid out how awful his existence was in a fruitless effort to convince the player to rescue him, too. The prisoner ended his tale of woe with "every night, I get raped to sleep by wolves." The PC still refused to rescue the prisoner and left to collect his reward for the mission.

Some people took offense to the bit about the rape and when they confronted Gabe and Tycho about it, the two were less than cordial towards their critics. Instead of apologizing, they became overly-defensive of their joke leading some people to accuse them of making light of rape.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-04-28

Was that the infamous "dickwolves" strip?

Binro the Heretic - 2013-04-28

Sorry, you're right. The prisoner said he was raped to sleep by dickwolves, not regular wolves.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2013-04-28

Don't forget when they endorsed a card game about raping schoolgirls (but don't worry, they're totally 18 and secretly asking for it *wink*) and then had a Twitter meltdown when people pointed out how fucking creepy that was.

From the RPS review, I've gleaned a few things. First, why put Ash in if you can't get Bruce Campbell? Second, it's a terrible poker game. And third, you can get Borderlands and TF2 items if you win various challenges in this game, which is probably why 99% of the sales of this game will take place.

SolRo - 2013-04-28

I'll tell you the reason it's back.

Hats.

Nominal - 2013-04-28

In the future, all products and services will be purchased based solely on TF2 hat access.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2013-04-28

For the last two years every "buyer's remorse" video game thread I've read has included "Poker Night at the Inventory" and stories of how it was fun for about ten minutes then the characters started repeating lines and at that moment the fact that you'd just wasted .00 hit you.

Oh well, at least this one apparently has loot that you can win and use in other games, which is cool I guess.

Binro the Heretic - 2013-04-28

Minus 2 stars because I'm pissed they didn't get Bruce Campbell.

I have the original and play it quite often. It's a pretty good PC card game and I like the characters' banter. It's tolerable if you set them to be less chatty in the options.

I'll get this one, too. I still don't understand why they included not-Bruce-Campbell, though. Couldn't they have used any of the "Left 4 Dead" franchise characters? I'd really rather play Texas Hold 'Em with Bill, Nick or Francis than Ash.

CornOnTheCabre - 2013-04-28

The only reason I can really think of is that Telltale is thinking about doing an Evil Dead/Army of Darkness game, and they wanted to test the waters...

which would be great -- previous Evil Dead video games haven't been kind to the franchise by any stretch, Telltale has shown its competence with the undead, and what they did with Back to the Future was pretty neat fan service.

Jet Bin Fever - 2013-04-28

TWO WHOLE GAME MODES?

dairyqueenlatifah - 2013-04-28

PORTAL OF WHAT?

chumbucket - 2013-04-28

Yeah, count 'em, Two. One.....Two. Two.

spikestoyiu - 2013-04-28

HAHA HATS AND CAKE

BHWW - 2013-04-28

Yeah, couldn't they have worked some bacon, ninjas, zombies, pirates, cheese, goggles or Neil Degrasse Tyson in there?

Xenocide - 2013-04-28

Not even Brock Samson can get me to tolerate that fucking Borderlands robot.

Gmork - 2013-04-28

On my first game, ash kept raising the bet regardless of his cards, brock kept folding, got out early, CLAPTRAP took the pot with a royal flush and eliminated me.

I had two pair :(

Gmork - 2013-04-28

the reason I didnt mention sam and max is because

FUCK SAM AND MAX

CornOnTheCabre - 2013-04-29

i've played three games so far -- two of them with Claptrap making it to the final three, and the other one he made it to Heads Up.

the exact same goddamn thing happened with Tycho in the first game. I don't know if its just the way the player behaviors are coded that ensure they stay in the game the longest, terrible luck, or maybe that I just play stupider when I'm in hands with those characters on account of devoting so much brainpower to pure loathing.
