One of the wonderful things about the Northwest is the legacy of asshole white supremacists making up reality. When I moved to Washington as a kid it had some of the highest teen pregnancy and illiteracy rates in the country, so the dot com boom threw those stats off a bit.

There's actually a part of Roslindale where a bunch of upper middle class white people live.

Not the part I'm thinking of; my boss a couple of jobs lived there and I went to his house a few times. Definitely Roslindale and definitely upper-middle class white homeowners. His neighbor was actually a cop (which sucked for him since he sold weed when he wasn't being people's boss - so as often as possible). I can't remember the actual street or I'd look it up. It was kind of on the opposite side of Roslindale from the orange line if I remember right.

Come to think of it, the drummer in my band around that time lived in Roslindale for a while in a different area and that was pretty much upper-middle class white people, too. It actually felt like Brookline Village except without the Jewish community.
