The other day, Weird Al tweeted that his daughter was 10 years old, and I tweeted to him that, having grown up with a dad who writes corny novelty songs (in his spare time, my Dad is sort of like a liberal Ray Stevens) I knew that Nina was a lucky young lady.
I just read that back in 2004 his wife found his parents dead in their house.
I've never met Al, but I met his parents in real life in 2000 (they lived like three blocks from my aunt, and my cousin went to high school with Weird Al) and they were two of the coolest old people ever. They were crazy about their son and were two of the only people I've ever met who didn't seem to have an ounce of ill will against anyone.
