Hm. I think Howard Stern's brother actually makes some good points about the potential loss of internet anonymity.

memedumpster - 2013-02-13

Dammit, if Cracked gets more target-rage they'll get our increased budget tokens! This wont stand, Cracked, we need that money for Moonbase Cyclops!

Turrican - 2013-02-13

Is it me or does this guy sound like Mayor Carcetti from The Wire?

Caminante Nocturno - 2013-02-13

It's good to hear that the destruction of political cartoons is going as planned. I predict that by the end of the year, the last political cartoon will be destroyed. When that happens, we can finally proceed with our plans to replace them with paper-based Socialism generators.

One vision, one purpose!

StanleyPain - 2013-02-13

For those curious what this is in reference to, Cracked did an article "4 Unhealthy Mentalities that the Internet Turned Into Movements" and gangstalking was one there (along with men's rights types, cheaters who cheat with other cheaters, and drunk driving advocates (which was a new one on me))

And when the gang stalking community inevitably stumbles upon this article, I will be accused of targeting them as well. The colors of Cracked, after all, are red and yellow.

Sanest Man Alive - 2013-02-15

How in twenty fucks do drunk driving "advocates" even live long enough to organize like that?

STABFACE - 2013-02-13

The thing that never gets old with the more-elaborate gangstalking videos is how they will drone on and on about targeted individuals, microwave weapons, and CIA/Shadow Government Torture Programs but always skip over the why.

Blue - 2013-02-13

That's actually the only part of it that makes sense. They don't really know why these things are happening. They don't know why the government would do this. That's really rare in the world of conspiracy theories and delusions.

As for why the government would do it, I suspect it's basically the shadow government's version of all those tanks congress wants to buy even though the military is saying we have too many tanks and not enough money and they are selling tanks to other countries to meet their budgets. I think the guy that makes pneumatic chemistry weapons and microwave brain transmitters is well connected and has funded a lot of shadow campaigns. Shadow Congress sees it as a way to line their own pockets while reducing shadow unemployment.

STABFACE - 2013-02-13

That actually makes a lot of sense. And now that I think about it, the vast majority of "big" conspiracy theories are pretty much completely unconcerned with the why.

deadpan - 2013-02-13

The purpose of conspiracy theories is not to answer why, it is to give some shape and definition to the constant stream of daily events that might otherwise lead one to conclude that we live in a world where no one is really in total control, and even the most powerful people are operating with incomplete information and limited resources.

It's all a leap of faith, in the end. Conspiracy theories are a belief in a higher (albeit malevolent) power.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-02-13

The conspiracy theory also skips over the bigger why, which is usually "why does my life suck?" The conspiracy allows them to not only inflate their egos, that they're important enough to "target," but that their not getting ahead at work or not trying to improve their lot is the fault of someone else, not them.

Hooker - 2013-02-13

I'm inclined to agree with the general idea here. Does Cracked do any articles that aren't "The Five Reasons Why Such-and-Such"?

gravelstudios - 2013-02-13

The writers at cracked have made it pretty clear from time to time that they've settled on that format simply because it seems to be the preferred format of their target audience.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2013-02-13

Wow, so the actual term "gangstalking" was coined by the conspiracy itself? They're going to have to come up with a new word for it, like "flippty-floppity-floo."

He also doesn't seem to get the difference between actual censorship (the blocking of free speech in a public space) and private websites that can be as strict as they want to be with their comment threads and forums. That's the least of his damage, though.

Blue - 2013-02-13

Poll: If gangstalking were a job, would you do it?

I would. If it's anything like being a secret shopper you don't just get paid, you get lots of free stuff. Sometimes it would be an entire store's stock of drywall nails, but sometimes it would be a free pedicure. Just for saying the word gangstalking in a sentence while a targeted individual was present.

I'd need to go to the gym more often though. I'd imagine it would involve a lot of trips to restaurants and fast food places.

Toenails - 2013-02-13

Well I do enjoy going around Youtube and just watching videos of people because, oh man, people are just so damn fascinating sometimes. One time, I watched a woman light candles and smile at the camera. And that was a 30 fucking minute video!

But I wouldn't want to have to keep following one person around, because as fascinating as we can be, most of the day we are terribly boring.

Blue - 2013-02-13

I'd imagine you'd be stalking different people every time.

That said, it would be really boring, because most of the stuff that gangstalkers do isn't going to provoke any reaction. You'd pretty much have to have something bad going on mentally to even notice it.

When you overhear a conversation at your favorite restaurant and it's about an electric bill, why would you even think "Oh, my god! They're talking about MY electric bill which didn't arrive! Clearly they stole it!"

Wow! There's a row of blue cars behind me! This is clearly meant to drive me slowly crazy!

I was surprised and disappointed to find out that there are no how to guides for gangstalking people. Seems like it would be really easy to get discouraged, given that you've got to do it for months or years and your victim may not ever notice you're doing it.

sosage - 2013-02-14

As I have found out, being a gangstalker is supposedly a job you are hired to do without being told. You are paid 0 dollars for this work. Even if you did know you were a gangstalking employee, you would deny it anyways.

Admitting to being a gangstalking employee is just a formality, because the victims of your stalking already knew that.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2013-02-14

Here's the main point. CRACKED did not say that anybody's first amendment rights should be revoked. You said they did. Ergo, you're a faggot.

That is all.
