A short length of chain with a lock on the end is a great weapon.

I think some of those heavy-duty bike chains Kryptonite Locks sells would be. (They weigh like 10-15 lbs!)

Maybe the chain is to bind the monster when they find it, maybe it's to trip the monster up, maybe she is an expert at using a chain like a heavy ass whip.
