YOU ARE NOTHING! YOU ARE THE UNIVERSE! YOU ARE A SPECK! YOU ARE THE TOTALITY OF THE COSMOS BOTH IN LITERALITY AND METAPHYSICALITY!

You lost me at paint roller chased by pigs. I'm not sure what you're going for there, but points for spontaneity.

memedumpster - 2012-10-05

I actually did a double take with complimentary "what?" at that part.

Ah, the heady days when video games just wildly combined ideas after snorting a pound of coke.

chumbucket - 2012-10-05

Oh god so THIS is that ridiculous paint roller game. Someone got paid money to develop that then market it.

Old_Zircon - 2012-10-06

Weren't there a few different paint roller games in the wake of Pacman? Plus Crush Roller, which kind of counts.

Billy the Poet - 2012-10-05

You're neither. You're an errand boy... sent by grocery clerks... to collect a bill.

Old video games were so proud of how little sense they made. They're not even trying to sell you on gameplay, they just want you to know how weird your player character is.

You're a kid, right?

Wrong! You're an abusive Italian plumber that wants to teach his wife a lesson by murdering her beloved pet monkey in front of her! But he got out and is throwing barrels at you!

You've murdered the monkey and taught Pauline that there's nothing you can't or won't take away from her if she disappoints you. You've won, right?

Wrong! Now you're an Elf and all of your friends and loved ones have been magically turned against you and your only choice is to kill them. Everyone you've ever loved is dead by your own hands, you've won, right?

Even weirder, those are the official plot lines to the games.

Old_Zircon - 2012-10-06

Games as art.

Binro the Heretic - 2012-10-06

I bought the Atari 2600 version for two dollars out of a bargain bin in Revco back in 1983 or so.

I felt ripped off.
