Princess Bubblegum should stop tampering in God's domain.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-09-02

God has made it so that Princess Bubblegum will one day die. That her kingdom will be without leadership, that her people will suffer as a result. He built a world where death and pain are essential and inherent to existence. To be a good ruler, the Princess must defy God's intent. She must work as if the cruelty and indifference of God can be subverted by the acts of man (or radioactively mutated candy). That we can be better than our creator. That rather than succumb to the endless void, we can make a flame that burns forever. And if a few atom-bombs and psychic candy-sphinxs result along that path, so be it. No such sins compare in wickedness to submission and surrender to the cosmic tyrant.

That third eye on a stalk, though. Did you ever see "From Beyond" (1986) with Barbara Crampton. Boy, was she cute.

I love that this show can freely explore the weirdness of religion and the ramifications of tampering with life itself just by not calling god "god".

Also, fuck almighty that part with the bee and flower gave me chills.

Man, she's always so halfhearted about how afraid she is that this... thing... whatever... might happen.

IrishWhiskey - 2012-09-02

Yet another piece of evidence that it wouldn't take much to push Princess Bubblegum into being a ruthless tyrant.

I love that I can type sentences like that about a show.

Sweetness corrupts.

Absolute sweetness corrupts absolutely.

Like saccharine!

If the more recent episodes are any evidence, she is descending into Lovecraftian-style insanity.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-09-03

I thought it was telling that her DNA produced an absolute monster, whereas Finn's DNA produced a hero that saved the world from eternal damnation. Is there some foreshadowing there? Who knows!

Louis Armstrong - 2012-09-02

Fin's a dad!

Auto-five. Not even watching the clip. Don't need to.

dead_cat - 2012-09-03

Good episode, but it always gives be the freaking creeps.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-09-03

This is the creepiest cartoon of its generation. Not since MTV had the Maxx have I been so oddly creeped out by an animated series.
