5 stars for comic sans

suck it, font nerds

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-07-04

It's all the more appropriate for the misspelling of "coarse."

dementomstie - 2012-07-05

Comic Sans gets more respect now because it was used to announce the Higgs Boson: http://www.theverge.com/2012/7/4/3136652/cern-scientists-comic-san s-higgs-boson
Also it gets no respect because it's Comic Sans. No respect I tells ya.

If I didn't listen to this on the 4th of July I'd be some kind of non-patriot or something.

The Mothership - 2012-07-05

Republicans! Sportsmanship! Books!

*uh, fuck..yea...*

joelkazoo - 2012-07-05

I personally liked the mentions of Band-Aids and Popeye.

And it's "wax lips" not "white slips".

This version features graphics:

I always thought "Popeye" was "Columbine." I've been mishearing that for YEARS.

WHO WANTS DESSERT - 2012-07-05

That part kind of sticks out because with the way the enthusiastic cheers peter out it seems to place Republicans on the same level as sportsmanship and books; unpopular, but right and just and necessary

BaseBauw!

dek863 - 2012-07-05

What's best is when people play this song ironically and don't realize it is a critique of patriotic bombast.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-05

It works both ways. And that is the beauty of it.

The God of Biscuits - 2012-07-10

I'm not sure how people could play a song that says "Slavery! ... FUCK YEAH" and not realize it's satire...

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2012-07-05

Stone and Parker FUCK YEAH!! These guys walk an amazing tight rope between Alfred Jarry and... I dunno, something really popular.

I remember seeing a couple of conservatives on the internet somewhere musing about "Team America", and they couldn't figure out how liberals could actually like it, too. To them, the portrayal of Alec Baldwin as a James Bond Super-villain-- and God knows what else-- was meant to be taken at face value.

dek863 - 2012-07-05

All liberals have pictures of Alec Baldwin above their fireplaces.

takewithfood - 2012-07-06

"Freedom is the only way, yeah!"

Syd Midnight - 2012-07-10

This and Homer Simpson's "Try and Stop Us" t-shirt are my favorite bits of self-effacing satire that accurately depict the United States mindset.
