The Mothership - 2012-02-18

I do not believe for an instant that this man has any gay friends.

zerobackup - 2012-02-18

Friends don't blow eachother, sir!

Pillager - 2012-02-18

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-02-18

Gay pages in Washington are practically a whole caste.

Oscar Wildcat - 2012-02-18

Those anonymous hookups you arrange at airport bathstalls are _not_ your friends, Rick.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-02-19

"Catamites," Rodent. A gay page is called a "catamite".

Syd Midnight - 2012-02-20

http://www.goproud.org/ are the self-loathing scumbags who make the Log Cabin Republicans look like GLADD, and even they don't want to endorse Santorum. So they damn him with faint praise like "Well, he'd be better than Obama."

Anaxagoras - 2012-02-18

I can't think of anything clever to say, so I'm going to have to go with:

Holy fuck.

pineapplejuicer - 2012-02-18

YOU CAN CALL A NAPKIN A CAR, BUT IT DOESNT MAKE IT A CAR

on the real though, story: when i was an 11th grader in advanced placement history in pennsylvania, we got to go on a field trip to washington dc to meet our senator...rick santorum. this was 2002, and after showing up nearly an hour late to meet our class he proceeded to rant excitedly at a group of 16-17 year olds about how bin laden wanted us personally dead. eat a dick, rick.

Riskbreaker - 2012-02-18

I want to think this is how the republican party picks their candidates. They throw them inside a room and make them recognize objects.

"THIS IS....UHM, A NAPKIN! THIS IS A NAPKIN!"
"You're good to go Rick, you broke the previous record set by Mrs Palin's, which was of 15 minutes!"

Pillager - 2012-02-18

Blah people?

I'm so glad Obama threw some red meat to Santorum. This current birth control fracas allowed Dan Quayle's second coming to rival Romney in the primary.

Well Played, sir.

Xenocide - 2012-02-18

Every time a bell rings, a Republican compares something harmless to Nazism.

Riskbreaker - 2012-02-18

These republican guys have clearly studied the nazi style of throwing a speech to the public. From the hand waving to knowing exactly when to raise their voice.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-02-18

What exactly did he compare Nazism to? That part was unclear, although I'm sure it was ridiculous.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2012-02-18

"I just ate a big red crayon".

Sudan no1 - 2012-02-18

Santorum Santorum Says.

Hammer Falls - 2012-02-18

Automatic 5.

glendower - 2012-02-18

The key to understanding this type of wingnut thinking is in the napkin comment. For Santorum, there are fixed Truths--established in the Bible, no doubt--which language is supposed to adhere to in perfect one-to-one correspondence. This also implies a complete rejection of the idea that language is constructed by culture and is mediated through acts of interpretation. No wonder then that these people evince a pathological hatred for anything having to do with liberal arts, with all of its emphasis on 'critical thinking.' No wonder also their rampant false nostalgia--such as their anachronistic claims about how their value system somehow mirrors ancient Biblical social codes.

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-02-18

That understanding has a slight flaw: They only do the one-to-one (and pretty much only on the KJV bible) adherence to things they agree with or want to push on others. They're all about condemning homosexuality, but a lot of other things they do every day that would have earned them a stoning is ignored. Not to mention that poverty is mentioned hundreds of times, but they'll go through logic convulsions to avoid having to give any money to help the needy.

Syd Midnight - 2012-02-20

When I visit relatives who live in a small south Pennsylvania mountain town, the phrase "American Taliban" is in my head the entire time because I really can't think of a better analogy.

Syd Midnight - 2012-02-20

Aaaand I just now saw the other video where it's made a linked tag.

TeenerTot - 2012-02-18

You had me at "Adolph Hitler."

Jet Bin Fever - 2012-02-18

Well this is easy to rate.

Stopheles - 2012-02-18

What's that "E" for, again?

Vaidency - 2012-02-18

2:56 made my eyes bug out of my head.

"Because the Left is always looking for a way to control you. They're always trying to make you feel guilty, so you'll give them power so they can lord it over you."

What level of cognitive dissonance does it take for a religiously-driven ideologue who's built his entire career on social wedge issues to accuse other people of using guilt as a political tool?

SteamPoweredKleenex - 2012-02-18

It's the kind that refers to religious guilt as "righteousness." It's doubly ironic given how these people seem to have no sense of shame, themselves.

cognitivedissonance - 2012-02-19

My kind!

Dread Pirate Roberts - 2012-02-18

Forget Karl Urban. Make Rick Santorum play Judge Dredd. His casting call was definitely met at :26

Caminante Nocturno - 2012-02-18

Most of his speeches would be considered too corny for a Law & Order episode.

Corpus Delectable - 2012-02-18

These bad lip reading videos are getting really good.

Gmork - 2014-02-18

Dumber than I could have imagined.
