Great, transcendent, revolutionary masterpieces and disposable, banal, corporate trifles are separated by a distance no greater than the thickness of a razor blade or the piece of film it cuts in two. baleen - 2012-01-06 Godard's post-modernism certainly sucked the meaning out of art. That whole legacy has created the kind of cynicism you're emulating here, but you don't have to travel far to find that there is meaning in Tarkovsky and Bressons and Bergman, these people tapped into some real things that can't be commodified easily, and as a result didn't make a lot of money in most cases.
