Pillager - 2012-01-06
It's kinda sad to watch the last of the GOP moderates go extinct.

Cena_mark - 2012-01-06 Mitt's still in it to win it.
IrishWhiskey - 2012-01-06 There's a difference between a moderate and a weathervane.
Cena_mark - 2012-01-06 Yeah, but Romney is the one to get behind, because Huntsman was never even in the race.
baleen - 2012-01-06
I'm voting for the moderate Republican that actually has a chance of winning. I'm voting for Obama again.

Pillager - 2012-01-06 @ Baleen, I know that they are unelectable rinos.
Modern Angel - 2012-01-06 He's not moderate. At all. He's extremely conservative. Don't mistake "sane" for "moderate".
Pillager - 2012-01-06 @ Paracelsus, Romney is the John Kerry of the GOP. Charisma Deficit Disorder & being a chronic flip flopper dooms Mitt, no matter who balances the ticket.

Funny you should mention it...Obama is a moderate Democrat.
baleen - 2012-01-06 I imagine Romney would not pick any of the guys in the running. He might surprise us with Ron Paul to energize his campaign (in a kind of act of desperation, really) and motivate a diehard base, but I'd bet he will pick a Reagan-era military magnate, because he needs some entrenched credentials, and he's paying back a lot of favors.
I'll go on the record and say that Santorum will not pick up more than 5-8% of the New Hampshire polls. Just a prediction. I'd be surprised if he even hit 5%.
Paracelsus - 2012-01-06 @ Pillager: I have just started to notice Romney's Palinism when surprised with a substantive question. In any debate Obama eats him alive. I agree; flipflop for sure, and he will lose, and people will not be affirmatively voting for him but rather against Obama.
@Baleen: I think that the Repub strategy is just to ride an anti-Obama wave. What they can't capture with Romney they can capture with Santorum. Santorum did pretty well in Iowa, all things considered. But he's Dan Quayle Redux. He's said far too many stupid things to be an actual presidential contender--but none of that matters to the base.
Having said that, I don't see the Dems in any real danger here. I've got Obama 301/Romney 237, and that's giving Romney Colorado and Florida.
baleen - 2012-01-06 Santorum did well precisely because nobody in Iowa knew who he was. The GOP nightmare is that 3 candidates split the vote 3 ways, and they each represent completely different parts of the GOP spectrum.

I thought he had more daughters and that at least one of them was Asian. I guess minority children don't go over well with the Republican base.
baleen - 2012-01-06 Mormons don't allow adopted children to sing parodies. It's just one of those weird things, like penis holes in the sheets and temperance.

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2012-01-06
Hopefully he'll come back for 2016 when the GOP sheds off the crazy.
baleen - 2012-01-06 The GOP will never again embrace immigrants. Bush had some success, but all that was flushed down the drain.
Jet Bin Fever - 2012-01-10
Well they certainly aren't dressed modestly enough for Mormon girls, that's for sure.
