Every year some random town somewhere in America with a population of about twelve gets in the news because they forbade someone from putting up a Nativity scene on city property (which, technically, they have to do, since such a display is unconstitutional.)

At which point conservatives blow up and declare that this proves that liberals are destroying Christmas, ignoring the countless cities and towns around the country (mine included) that look the other way and allow religious Christmas displays on city property despite it being technically illegal.

The War on Christmas is a very popular issue among right wing idiots. Bill O'reilly gets on his high horse about it every year. How dare we try to include Hanukkah. I've still never met a person who actually celebrates Kwanzaa.

Christmas is just a cheapened Yule anyway. There should be a Pagan uprising trying to take back Christmas from the Judeo-Christ beast. I would love to see how they would react.

I think such a movement will occur. The country is becoming more and more secular, but it still loves Christmas.
