Also, I like how half the music videos are not music videos, but clips from MTV reality shows. Subtle commentary on how the channel's changed over the years? Or simply a lack of available music video content?
The main reason they're doing it is for syndication; the original episodes couldn't be syndicated on television because MTV doesn't own rights to the music videos.
I think that's the whole purpose of the new episodes. I think if they can reach enough episodes then they get the rights to the music videos back, or something. Idk.
I'm still trying to decide if that means I should lament that reality shows are apparently what define modern popular culture and therefore deserve more prominence in Beavis & Butthead, or just to be happy that these two tearing into them makes them watchable for a guy like me.
Incidentally, I didn't know their was a band called LMFAO until now, so the world just got simultaneously funnier and stupider and more tragic for me.
