baleen - 2011-10-10 I have no idea. I thought I did.

Good to see a member of the non-kept left at this protest. I hope there are enough Zizeks involved to prevent it from being co-opted by DNC operatives.

baleen - 2011-10-10 I didn't even know there was a genre of philosopher or public speaker that could be put into a group called "Zizeks."
Void 71 - 2011-10-10 Zizek's just a radical socialist with intense delivery. He was there when capitalism chewed up eastern Europe and spit it out so he's allowed the luxury of foaming at the mouth a little.

I get really creeped out by call and response style speech like this. strikes me as very cultish. doesn't matter if I agree with what's being said or not, it makes me very nervous.

Tobster - 2011-10-10 They're doing the human megaphone because they don't have a sound system, they are just making sure everyone can hear.

poorwill - 2011-10-10 It's creepy and I hate it. Also, Slavoj Zizek sucks.
fatatty - 2011-10-10 The Catholics do this every Sunday and I've never heard anyone call them creepy for speaking en masse. And like baleen said, there are a myriad of speakers and topics being run through this conduit. With Catholics it is the same few lines from the Bible every week, and very clearly brainwashing.
poorwill - 2011-10-10 Catholics are creepy as hell. That just makes this seem creepier.
baleen - 2011-10-10 You are easily scared.

Happy to finally see Zizek's position on the movement, I've honestly been waiting to hear it for weeks.

Man, he's such a twitchy, glitchy weirdo who seems to be obsessed with popular culture. That being said, I love listening to his thoughts.
